Research Interests:
My primary research interests lie in the interactions between leucocytes and endothelial cells. More recently, my research has moved to the role of HIV infection on the trafficking of monocyte/macrophages across the blood-brain barrier. Specifically, we are examining the timing and signal transduction mechanisms that lead to disruption of the tight junctions within cerebral endothelial cells during acute SIV infection and during the development of encephalitic lesions.
